Marsh Lamp - Sculptural Lighting by vjrkrn
The idea for Marsh came to me in the most ordinary of moments—while washing mushrooms from the farmers market. I was struck by the way their forms carried both simplicity and complexity, how something so common could feel so refined when you really looked at it.
I took inspiration from the underside—the gills—normally hidden from view. For the base, I reinterpreted those lines, curving them in unexpected directions to draw the eye and invite a closer look. It’s the kind of detail that doesn’t shout, but rewards attention.
In contrast, I wanted the shade to feel like a pause. A soft, minimal form that seems to float above the textured base, casting a diffused, warm light. It’s quiet, gentle—meant to feel at home next to you during a late night read or quiet evening in.
The topper was the final piece—concentric rings angled just enough to prevent you from catching a direct glimpse of the bulb. It completes the silhouette, but more importantly, it protects the experience. No glare, just glow.
With Marsh, my goal wasn’t just to make a lamp—it was to create something that feels considered in every sense. Something that belongs in the lives of people who notice the little things, and value the presence of objects with intention behind them.
